A Little More Camping…

One of the reasons we love to camp is because it’s such a great mini-vacation for the kids.  There’s always so much to keep them entertained.DSC_0210

They can play in the dirt.

They multi-task… notice Brewer yielding a sparkler as well as a couple of marshmallows ready to roast.

And they get plum worn out!

Best of all they create some wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.

Do you camp?

  1. Oh what great photos and memories you are creating! Gorgeous children!

We do camp…..but totally not roughing it. We have a camper that has heat/AC/microwave/shower…..the whole shpeel!

We are heading out to The Soulfest (www.thesoulfest.com) next week at Gunstock Mt. in New Hampshire…..I cannot wait! The kids use a tent as they always have friends and even though our camper sleeps 10, I think they think that all campers are under 5′ with the beds, LOL.

Camping is one of the few things that can really bring families together. Even though we have all the bells and whistles with our camper, we don’t allow the kids to bring video games, computers, etc. It is a time to disconnect from the busyness of the world, yk?

My favorite is just sitting by the campfire in the morning, with coffee and the newspaper.

  2. That’s last photos is FABULOUS. I love the way M has such a tight, protective hold of Brewer.

  3. my husband and i used to camp a lot but we haven’t since our son was born 5 years ago! really want to after seeing your great camping pictures!

  4. We all love to camp… I agree about the family memories…great family time away from all the distractions of daily life…looks like you had a great trip!

  5. That last photo is priceless! How cute that they have all girls and you have all boys:-)

  6. We camp – but we don’t rough it! We have been blessed with a camper that has ac and a bathroom! In fact, we just returned from a week at a local state park. My children never turn a video game on while we are there! Just last week, my child found enough sticks and a thrown away tarp and made his own tent, complete with a sign that he carved, “Girls Keep Out!”

Wish we had some beautiful waterfalls like you guys have close by!

Continue making those wonderful memories camping!

  7. We do camp some, but haven’t camped in a while. We are actually going (tent) camping the end of August in Rocky Mountain National Park, Estes Park, CO. I’m really looking forward to it! This will be our 2 & 4 year olds first camping experience. I’m hoping they love it because we’re camping 5 nights!

  8. i love camping! we are prepping for a 2 wk rv excursion to colorado. so this has been a good taste of what’s to come for us. love the pix you’ve been sharing brandi =)

  9. Look at all those cutie patootie toeheads! Such a precious picture of all the kids! That is definitely frameworthy!

  10. We LOVE to camp. To my husband that is better then any other vacation we can plan. Would love to come and check out the camping around your area, it is beautiful.

  11. Yep! We’re headed out today! This will be our first camping trip with our daughter (5 mo.).

I LOVE LOVE the pic of the kids in the rocks! Definitely frame-worthy!

  12. I haven’t in a while but I do camp.

  13. My husband and I love camping, and just this month took our 3.5 and 1.5 year old on their first trip. It was a blast! We borrowed a pop-up, but not a fancy- shmancy one with a bathroom or a/c. We made great memories, even if the boys don’t remember, my hubs and I won’t forget the joy they had in just being dirty!!

  14. great memories! amazing photos! what a legacy!

  15. Oh, I’ve camped once. We thought we heard a bear in the middle of the night and all I could think was I KNOW I can run faster than my cousin and that would buy me some time. haha I hear Marla LOVES camping. :)

  16. well Steve would like to try! Try being the key word. He is kinda a hotel camper

  17. I LOVE camping and grew up doing it. Sadly we haven’t camped in five years due to our camping gear getting stolen and not having the money to replace it. But, we are planning to go in September with the kids and I can hardly wait! Camping, in my opinion has got to be one of the best ways to bond as a family and build memories. Especially when things go wrong…those stories become the fondest memories ;)

  18. I must be the only person – but I have NEVER been camping! My dad was not the vacation type – we flew to Michigan every summer to visit my mom’s relatives.
I’m also anti bug – and need a shower! Unless we had an RV, or a nice cozy cabin – I’m not sure if I would like it!

The pictures of the kids look beautiful!

  19. Nope , we don’t camp. However we own the gear , just have never used it :o ( You have encouraged me to possible give it a go! Thanks (grin).

  20. We’ve never been camping but want to soon :) Looks like ya’ll had a blast!

  21. i’ve never been camping. well…for family night i did…but it was INDOORS…so i don’t think that counts. ;)

great pics. i really do wanna go camping one of these days. it’s on my list.

  22. I love all the pictures but that last one is priceless!

  23. I grew up camping and now we just got our first camper so now we can make memories with our kids. We’ve gone once this summer and plan on going labor day weekend. It’s definitely a great thing for the kids, they can explore and get dirty! Here is my camping post: http://countingmyblessings4.blogspot.com/2009/06/camping-we-went.html

  24. No camping here, but now all of a sudden Marc wants a RV (probably knew it was the only way he could get me to officialy stay outside anywhwere). Now if I got to camp at Disney’s Wilderness Campground we might be able to make a deal. LOL

  25. Not only did I camp growing up, but my family then owned and operated a campground for 16 years! Then after I was married and when I was pregnant w/ #2 I convinced my in-laws that their piece of property was perfect for a campground and so now here I am with kids and a campground of my own. The only drawback to actually running a campground is that we get very little time to camp ourselves…but my boys (ages 4 & 2) get all the benefits of camping every day since we live here!

  26. Not nearly enough!

  27. Yep. I acutally LOVE it!! Anthony and I used to camp alot in the days before kids. But now that the kids are getting old enough, we’re gonna start making it a family event. Can’t wait to get back to it!

    Love your camping pics!
