I got all my Christmas stuff out on Wednesday and set up what I had. We bought a house early this summer and it is a lot bigger than our last so I was excited to have lots to decorate and to see what else I needed. I need a lot more so it was good to see what I had. Off to the Christmas Tree Shop next weekend!

Nope, not even thinking of Christmas ’round my house yet!!! Gotta get through Thanksgiving first!
This is a sentimental Christmas…our oldest is a sr. in high school so it will probably look a bit different next year! So, not really ready to start celebrating just yet!

Oh my word, Christmas decorations already?? Is it really time for that?? Truth be told, we leave our Christmas village up all year. My Mom has 30+ pieces, so it’s easier that way! Other than that, I think we might have a few snowmen out that didn’t get taken down from last year. And I’m pretty sure we still have a ghost out, as well! lol But the rest of our decorations?? Still in boxes in the basement!

Christmas starts in our household (my mother’s anyway) the day after thanksgiving. I know some people are die hards and start the day after halloween, and that’s just CRAZY!

No decorating here yet – we’re moving into a house this weekend. Not sure when we will get to decorating for Christmas. We’ll need to unpack boxes first!

Cindy has done most of the Christmas shopping but we won’t start decorating till this weekend. I’ve made a commitment to relax and enjoy it this year. lol

I don’t even start till after Thanksgiving.
I like it that way.

Decorating before Thanksgiving?? We have a strict tradition around here that the day after Thanksgiving is sacred and set aside for Christmas decorating. Not a day sooner. Also, that day is the day we break out all the Christmas music.
By the way, love the new picture you and the boys in your blog header.

Santa needs a sword or a Nerf Longshot or something…
We wont decorate until the Sunday after Thanksgiving since we will be out of town…BUT we have already cleadned out the BOTH the storage building and the garage…so the Christmas loot is totally accessible and ready to be splayed out all over my house.

I wanted to start decorating this weekend, Daniel prefers to wait until Thanksgiving…so we compromised on next Saturday and until then playing Christmas music. I only have a couple of gifts but my amazon and toyrsus.com shopping carts are getting full!

Because of schedules and company and travel we have decorated the outside of the house this weekend and this coming weekend is the inside. My husband works many weekends and evening during the holidays and so we have to really plan it out for when he is available. we try to shoot to as close to Thanksgiving as we can but sometimes we are a couple weeks early because of work schedules but I look at it this way we can enjoy it all the longer!!! we are the first ones on our street to decorate, but we don’t turn the lights on the house till after thanksgiving we jst make sure there ready

We did the same this weekend – we’ll be out of town for the next 2 weekends so it was either yesterday or not until December – Thanksgiving seems late this year… We don’t have our tree yet – we’ll save that one for after Thanksgiving. I LOVE this time of year and since we’ve decided to do mainly “homemade” gifts this year I feeling much less stressed about the holidays. Good times!
And a word of warning to those who haven’t experienced a Wilson Christmas… just think Griswold, but not as tacky!! Have fun Pete and Brandi – I’m sure we’ll see your house from here this year!

Wow! As Brad said, usually the day after Thanksgiving but since we will be in Michigan that whole week, we may have to break the tradition and decorate this weekend.

Here’s a hint…I really like cupcakes!!!! So this year for the first time we are going to be in the middle of summer for Christmas. We don’t have a tree yet, but I know it will be rad to start some new traditions.

That Christmas village brings back memories of my mother’s Snow Village that she put out every year. I also remember the albums she played as we decorated and baked.
I did put up the tree last night but it is not decorated. My son enjoys doing the decorating and baking more than anyone else in the house. I am afraid that I am not as good at that as my mother is. I am going to try to do better this year.

Usually we do it on Turkey Day, but thinking of doing it this week instead, the tree, at least. The outside decor we probably won’t do until next weekend.
I don’t think it’s too early !

I probably won’t decorate until the first weekend in December. I’ve not done any shopping yet. It is going to be a short list this year.

I wanted to jump up and screech just a little when I saw your picture!!! It’s beautiful!
I’m decorating today. I’ve got Christmas movies playing and I’m hard at work. I do a lot and I like to just sit back and enjoy by the time Thanksgiving gets here! You go girl~

My sister and her kids are coming on Thanksgiving (SO EXCITED; I’m usually here alone on that holiday) so I’m going to have them get my Christmas stuff out.
Gifts ~ not a problem. The few things I had to order are done and the rest I need to just get a little crafty yet. My friends and I all agreed a few years ago that we don’t get gifts; I only buy for the little kids in my life. But with 10 nieces and nephews that adds up quickly!!!

OK. I’m almost embarassed to admit this, but I am completely decorated. Started right after Halloween. In my defense…..most of my Christmas decorations are ‘winter’ decorations and in Iowa….it definitely feels like winter. I don’t have any ‘Santa’ decorations just a lot of snowmen, wreaths, and wintery objects. OK. The 17 Christmas tree’s are very Christmas-y, but other than that…..
And……my Christmas shopping is almost complete and I’m not embarassed to say THAT!

Gotta wait until after Dec. 5 so we can separate Claire’s birthday from Christmas.

Our tree has been up since Friday night. Thanksgiving is a little late this year, and since I always want to take everything down the day after New Years, it just seemed better to start early.

Normally I wait until the weekend of Thanksgiving but it is later this year and since our Christmas decoration boxes are in storage and we had my Father-in-law’s van this past weekend…we too decorated for Christmas. It is nice, because I’m kinda fanatical about cleaning really good before we put up Christmas stuff…so the apartment is clean and everything looks festive!

I just did it last night…but the tree will have to wait till after Thanksgiving so it doesn’t totally dry out! There was a small window that they house was clean, so I took advantage of it!
It’s so much fun!
