A recent prayer from our sweet Gage…
Dear God,
Thank you for my friends
Thank you for my family
Thank you for Mrs. Kim
Please help me get married one day
And please help her be healthy
And then make me a Daddy
And make sure we move out of my Momma and Daddy’s house
Amen
I’ve debated blogging this prayer for a couple of weeks…. but something just kept nagging at me to share it. I think because it so perfectly illustrates the sweet spirit of my middle son.
I love that he prays for his wife to be healthy rather than pretty… I’m sure that will probably change over the next few years.
Then he prays to be a Daddy…. I firmly believe that is because he has such a great Daddy in his life.
And finally he prays to move out of our house. That’s actually a big step for Gage because he’s always told me he wants to live with us forever!
My biggest prayers for Gage are that he keeps his sweet spirit, he continues his thoughtfulness for others, and he’ll continue to be comfortable expressing his emotions.

So very sweet…

This is one of thos profound snapshots that you will always hold in your heart…maybe even share at Gage’s rehersal dinner one day…
It reminded me of something my (one and only ) son said when he was about 9 years old…(he’s 24 now)
“Momma, I’ll take care of you when you’re old. But if my wife won’t let you, you’ll have to live with Bethany.” (Bethany is my oldest child)
I pull that out and think of it often and remember his tender (and practical!) heart…Blessings to you and yours today~

I LOVE little Gage! He’s so sweet! Last night, when the boys were over, he would run to check on Palmer to make sure he wasn’t scared while we were all playing. How cute is that?

That is absolutely precious! Which doesn’t come as a surprise since Gage is absolutely precious as it is! When my little brother was really little, he would pray for “the sick and the sad and the lonely” (and end with “Hey man!” instead “Amen”).
Mom says he still does at 14!

Brandi-
This is such a reflection of the joy, thoughfulness, and tender hearted love you and Pete give sweet Gage. He already is aware of himself as much as he can be at age 4.
You have to cut and paste this prayer and read it on his wedding day. Seriously, how awesome would that be!?! Way to go, mom and dad.
Ok…so can we arrange a marriage for my Avery or Annalise? he he
Hey, me and my husband our planning our 10 yr trip to Nashville in November. He has to be there for a conference anyway so I am joining in and will hit downtown Nashville while he is busy one day.
We should finally meet and do lunch.

That is the sweetest prayer! Be sure to remember to include that in his wedding toast!
One of my favorite prayers from my 4 year old daughter included this line: ‘Thank you for church that we don’t be lonely.’ Amen!

Oh my goodness, I too pray for my kids spouces, that Christ would be holding them closely till that spot in time when paths cross… to have your own boy make that connect is so special and tender reflection of your dear heart. Thanks for the warm fuzzies. Made my afternoon.
Blessings,
Roxanne

I love the prayers of kids! Love it that he has a dad he wants to be like. I pray for a world full of boys who have dads they can look up to and whose prayers are sincere! We have a middle son who keeps us laughing too. Lately his prayers have included: God thank you for grandma, help her not to be so stubborn and to take her pills. Or: God thank you for 3 meals today, and…the average amount of snacks. Gotta love those little boys~

That is awesome!!! I love the innocent and pure prayers and conversations from children.
I have fun with my conversations with a 5 year old posts. Gavin is always shocking us with stuff he says, I wish I had it all on video for the memories.
When Tristan starts talking clearer there’s no telling what he will say!
