Okay guys, let me just get it out there… this is another post in which tell you how blessed I am to be a part of Cross Point.
Last night we had our annual Volunteer Appreciation Gala where the staff takes a few hours to let all of our volunteers know how exceptional they are. It’s always a remarkable evening. The theme this year was “Cross Point at the Movies”. Each volunteer walked the red carpet….

520 volunteers were honored tonight… isn’t that crazy exciting? I love seeing people realize they ARE the Body of Christ.

Here’s the Cross Point staff on stage recognizing each volunteer team that make Cross Point Nashville and Cross Point Dickson a reality.
And here’s one more Pete, Ryan, and Pastor Chad after they finished their beautiful rendition of “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling.” Pete rocked it out, just like Maverick… (there might be video of their performance floating around).

The children were also entertained with their own movie night. They dined on pizza and popcorn, watched a movie, and then hung out with Bob and Larry from Veggie Tales. All the kids loved it, except for Brewer who has an anxiety attack when he sees anyone wearing a costume.
It was sensational evening where volunteers where celebrated in the highest quality. We laughed, we cried, we ate, we prayed, we laughed more, we were entertained, and we were reminded that God’s church, when done well, can create life change like no other.
Thank you Cross Point staff for your love and dedication to your job. Each of you challenge me and remind me how wonderful it is to be part of a team. You lead with efficiency and respect. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

What a neat idea! Looks like you all had lots of fun.

Great time at the Gala last night. Can I just say you may have made my daughter Leah’s week with real Larry Boy and Bob! She loves meeting characters. She is starting to get too old for them (5 1/2) but after seeing her old heros she wants a Veggie Tales popcorn movie marathon today after school.

What an amazing day. I know I have said it before but thanks so much for creating the church that helped save our marriage. Teach our children the love of God, and transform our entire family from the inside out.

What a wonderful night! (Although it was kind of odd to see my head that large on the screen!) It makes me want to volunteer more! I am planning on getting more involved after Babybird makes his arrival!
It was wonderful to finally meet you and I hope to see you in Dickson on Sunday!

That is so amazing. I just read about the goals the church is setting on Pete’s blog and, as I commented there, I’m just so incredibly impressed and proud of all of you. It’s been lovely getting caught up in the movement of it with you through your blogs and I will continue to keep you all in my prayers as you keep pushing forward to be of service to others.
Your evening looks AMAZING… and I notice they had Pete play another short actor in this movie rendition.
If you happen to have the video that’s floating around I’m sure we’d all love it if you’d post it!

Can I just say that there is no way we as a staff could pull this off each year without our incredible spouses! From serving cake to washing dishes to singing to running sound…you all are awesome! We need to have a special event just dedicated to you guys!

Micah had an anxiety attack when he saw Bob and Larry too! And I almost had one when I saw Pete and Chad in leather jackets and sunglasses!

Congratulations on having such a great group of volunteers! It’s fantastic that you do an appreciation event for them.
I saw on Pete’s blog about a house built entirely by women. That sounds AWESOME. I want in on that one.

I am glad my child wasn’t the only one screaming at Bob and Larry. K freaked out when she saw them and no it was not a happy freak out…. it was a very scary one.
